There is still a place for____ is a special biennial project by Sasha Puchkova, a multidisciplinary artist who often works with performance, mediation, site-specific activities, including a digital component in her projects and almost always acting both inside the screen (video, games, online exhibition), and outside it (direct interaction, physical involvement with a place and a person).
In this project, the artist seeks not so much to penetrate the work of mediators and reassign it qualitatively, but to find the human within the structure of the biennial. Puchkova is interested in the relationship between the workers of the biennial, in the relations with locations, in the structure of these interactions: emotions, captured personal stories, the context in which the biennial exists, in which we live and work, having temporary contact with the project.
The textual component of Sasha Puchkova's work is a poetic verbatim used by mediators-performers within the intervention.
The work is implemented in two dimensions: a fictional mediation in the UOMZ space, which will take place from November 9 to December 5 during the evening tours, and in the form of an online session on the Mozilla Hubs platform, created in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut in Russia.
The virtual space in Mozilla Hubs is an associative poetic journey through the locations of the Biennial Main project. Sound plays a very important role here. It was recorded by the artist at the venues and subsequently transformed with the help of the composer Misha Marushkin. We recommend you to visit the virtual space in a web browser (Google Chrome, Opera, or Mozilla Firefox) and turn on the sound. The artist also thanks Roman Solodkov for the technical support of the project.
