Olivia Wiederkehr needs to consider the history of the place and involve the urban communities in each of her projects. Especially for the Biennial, Olivia has created the Yes! No! Yes! No! performance. She combines complex choreography with deceptively bland expressions — “yes” and “no”. Whether spoken or written, affirmation and negation are performative. “Yes” opens doors and gets us to new places, “no” sets boundaries and sets rules. Together with the performers, Olivia will address the viewers and passers-by with opinions and statements that can be denied or agreed upon. Thus, the artist seeks to understand in which case people discover the key to inner freedom, and in which case they encounter social boundaries.
The performance takes place outside.
