Pavel Otdelnov was born in 1979. He lives and works in Moscow. He is an artist and specializes in painting.
In 2020, he was the Artist of the Year at the international contemporary art fair Cosmoscow and laureate of the Innovation Prize in the category Artist of the Year. In 2017, he was a finalist of the Sergey Kuryokhin Award in the category The Best Work of Visual Art and laureate in the category Special Prize of the French Institute. In 2015, 2017, and 2019, he was a nominee of the Kandinsky Prize in the category Project of the Year.
He participated in the main projects of the 8th Moscow Biennial of Contemporary Art in 2019, in the 8th Tashkent Biennial of Contemporary Art in 2018, in the 4th Ural Industrial Biennial of Contemporary Art in 2017, and in the 4th Moscow Biennial of Young Art in 2014. Artist’s works are in the collections of the StateTretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the Institute of Russian Realistic Art, the National Center for Contemporary Arts, corporate and private collections in Russia and other countries.
