Vadim Kondakov (b. 1990, Bugulma, lives and works in St. Petersburg) graduated from the Feshin Art School in Kazan, Russia and the Stieglitz Art and Technical Academy in St. Petersburg in the field of metalwork. The artist experiments with the properties of metal, his favourite technique is hydroforming, which is widely used in industry to give metal structures any shape or form. Water helps metal to make any metamorphosis, but the artist extends the visibility of the fleeting meeting of these components by transferring the oxide film formed by their interaction to other surfaces – paper or fabric.
