One-day tour Ekaterinburg – Polevskoy – Ekaterinburg
16+

The history of the foundation of Polevskoy is typical for the Ural metallurgical cities: it all began with copper mines. Over the course of a couple of centuries, metallurgy has literally transformed the landscape: waste heaps have grown on moderately hilly terrain, which now serve as observation platforms. In the Severskaya Domna museum complex, the participants of the tour will learn how cast iron was smelted in the middle of the 19th century, and at the Seversky Pipe Plant – how metal is poured today.

On the facade of the plant's research center, the artists Anna and Vitaly Cherepanov will present a monumental composition which is the result of the artists' study of the city, the enterprise and the people who work here. The area of the facade is almost 300 square meters, and it will be filled with the impressions of Anna and Vitaly after visiting the electric pipe welding, piling, electric steel-making and pipe rolling shops and excursion to Polevskoy local history museum.
