The building is a cultural heritage site of regional importance. The study of the constructivist heritage as an iconic architectural feature of Ekaterinburg, initiated by the biennial in 2010, continues in the new decade with an artistic intervention in the Main Post Office building. Two halls will host installations and a performance of the main project. Furthermore, following the original purpose of the House of Communication and the Biennial's theme "A time to embrace and to refrain from embracing", the Main Post Office will be a place for sending letters and parcels to loved ones from other cities and to the project’s artists from other countries.

To use the Ekaterinburg Circus as the main project venue was the initiative of the invited team of curators – Çağla Īlk, Misal Adnan Yıldız, Assaf Kimmel. Even before their arrival, they were struck by the architectural appearance of the building. After their first research visit, they were fascinated by the circus dynasties and the history of these families. Until October 24th all 3 000 square meters of the building will be available for the large-scale performance program. The audience will be able to see the installations located in the public spaces of the Circus over the course of the Biennial.
